Here is a bit more information about logistics and what to expect. Feel free to email teaonadance@gmail.com if you have any questions that are not answered here or on the FAQ page.
FINDING THE STUDIO Classes take place at Distinctive Dance Etc., 2765 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886. There is a parking lot going around the building, and the entrance is in the back (there is also more parking in the back than in the front). The building is next to a Domino's Pizza. Feel free to call Teaona if you have any trouble finding the studio at 401-702-4336.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO CLASS? Bring water! If you would like to bring a yoga mat for stretching, please do.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE? Tahitian Dance: Typically, a pareo (or pareu) is worn in Tahitian dance classes. This is often referred to as a sarong, like you may see worn at the beach sometimes. If you don’t have one on the first day of class, that’s okay! These can be ordered online, and Teaona can help you find one if needed. Other than that, wear comfortable shorts under the pareo and a comfortable top that you can easily move around in. If you don’t yet have a pareo, you may wear pants that you can also easily move in, such as yoga pants or leggings. Typically, we dance barefoot for these classes.
If you signed up for the 4-class pass, here is how it works: You get 60 days from the date of purchase to use up all four classes. The classes do not have to be taken consecutively, meaning if you miss a class one week, you can still continue to use your pass from the next week's class (as long as you still have classes left on your pass). This is not a physical card. You will be required to sign in at class time so that your attendance can be tracked. You will be notified when you're down to one class left, at which time you may renew.
